6. Clip from a group project for my master in animation at MIVC St. Joost, and But film festival. I directed and storyboarded this promo video for the 2024 But festival. I created the set and did the 2D animation in this clip. The puppet was created and moved by Renata Samà.

When making an animation, I always start by creating a storyboard. Here is an example of the final version of a moving storyboard for an animation I made for the E.E.E.C, a car club dedicated to the Citroën 2CV. This part of the process is a great tool for communicating with the client, to gain feedback and adjust accordingly.

This is my thesis film for my bachelor’s degree that I finished in 2023. I wanted to make something poetic and authentic to myself.

This is my thesis film for my master’s degree that I finished in 2024. I used acrylic paint on a sheet of glass to paint each frame of this animation. The story was based on my own experiences with losing loved ones, and how it sometimes feels like they are still trying to tell you something from beyond the grave.

Although I most often use my trusty drawing tablet for animating, I love working and experimenting with analogue materials, from paint to clay to papier mâché. These things will always add a tangible and special feeling to a project.

I directed part of a promo animation for But Film Festival. I made it with fellow master students as part of a group project. We used a mix of puppetry and 2D animation to create a unique look that fit the theme of the festival that year, “Rebel Hell”.
